Tips Before
you Pack
Whether you live in a tiny studio or grand city
town house, moving home is an ideal time to de-clutter,
clearing out the loft, backs of your cupboards
can save you time and energy packing.
Priority list
Make an itinerary of all the items that will need
careful packing so you can calculate how much
packaging material you will need to purchase.

Box sizes
Ensure that each box is manageable for one person
to carry. Don’t put all heavy items in one
big box – and make sure the boxes are sturdy.
Keep old newspapers for lining, buy strong tape,
scissors, bubble wrap and self-seal bags for lose
things like curtain hooks and picture hooks.
Essentials
It’s tempting to pack everything away and
if you haven’t given yourself time or planned
the process, than you could forget to put aside
essentials like toilet roll, kitchen cloth, eating
utensils and champagne glasses for when you enter
your new home.
Prepare an overnight bag of toiletries and keep
a small tool kit and first aid kit at hand.
Strategic
packing
Start at the top, in your attic if you have one
and work down. Pack heavy stuff in small boxes
